Content Moderation & Enforcement Policy
Effective Date: July, 2026
Fair, Consistent, and Transparent Moderation
At ShopYellowPages, our goal is to provide a trusted platform where businesses, buyers, sellers, and community members can connect with confidence.
To maintain that trust, we review reported content, investigate potential policy violations, and take appropriate action when necessary.
We strive to apply our policies consistently, fairly, and without favoritism. Our goal is always to protect the community while treating every user with respect.
This policy explains how content is reviewed, how reports are investigated, and the actions we may take when our policies are violated.
Why We Moderate Content
Content moderation helps us:
- Protect users from fraud and scams.
- Maintain accurate and trustworthy listings.
- Prevent spam and abusive behavior.
- Protect intellectual property rights.
- Promote respectful interactions.
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Create a safe environment for businesses and consumers.
Moderation is intended to support a positive experience for everyone using ShopYellowPages.
What We Review
Our moderation process may apply to any content submitted through ShopYellowPages, including:
- Business Directory listings
- Marketplace product listings
- Classified advertisements
- Business profile information
- Images and photos
- Product descriptions
- User-generated content
- Reviews or ratings
- Messaging features
- Other publicly visible content

Our Moderation Principles
When reviewing content, we strive to:
Continuously Improve – Refine our moderation practices as our community grows and technology evolves.
Be Fair – Apply our policies consistently to all users.
Be Transparent – Clearly explain our policies and enforcement process.
Be Respectful – Treat every user with professionalism and courtesy.
Protect the Community – Prioritize the safety and trust of businesses and consumers.
Support Honest Businesses – Help legitimate businesses succeed by reducing fraud, spam, and deceptive practices.
How Content Is Reviewed

User Reports
Members of the community may report listings, products, businesses, or other content they believe violates our policies.
Every report is reviewed by our moderation team.
Routine Monitoring
We may periodically review publicly available content to help identify spam, fraudulent listings, duplicate content, or other policy violations.
Automated Detection
To improve platform safety, ShopYellowPages may use automated tools to identify suspicious activity such as:
- Spam
- Duplicate listings
- Unusual account activity
- Potential fraud
- Policy violations
Automated systems help identify content for review, but significant enforcement decisions are reviewed by a member of our team whenever practical.

Legal or Regulatory Requests
Content may also be reviewed when required by law or in response to valid legal requests from governmental or regulatory authorities.
How to Report a Concern
If you believe content violates our policies, you may report it through our Report a Concern page.
When submitting a report, please provide as much information as possible, including:
- A link to the listing or profile.
- A description of the concern.
- Supporting documentation or photographs, if applicable.
- Any other relevant information that may assist our review.
Submitting false or malicious reports may itself violate our Community Safety Guidelines.

Our Investigation Process
Each report is evaluated individually.
Depending on the nature of the report, we may:
- Review the reported content.
- Review account history.
- Review communication between users when available.
- Request additional information from the reporting party.
- Contact the business or user involved.
- Review applicable Marketplace records.
- Consult legal requirements when appropriate.
Not every report results in enforcement action.
We make reasonable efforts to review reports fairly based on the available information.
Possible Outcomes
After completing a review, we may determine that:
- No policy violation occurred.
- Additional information is needed.
- The content should be corrected.
- The listing should be removed.
- The account should receive a warning.
- Temporary restrictions are appropriate.
- Permanent removal is necessary.
Each situation is evaluated individually.
What Are the Consequences
Listing Corrections
In some situations, a listing may simply require correction rather than removal.
Examples include:
- Missing information.
- Incorrect category selection.
- Minor policy violations.
- Formatting issues.
- Inaccurate descriptions that can reasonably be corrected.
Whenever practical, we may provide the opportunity to correct these issues.
Listing Removal
Listings may be removed when they:
- Violate ShopYellowPages policies.
- Promote prohibited products or services.
- Mislead consumers.
- Contain fraudulent information.
- Infringe upon intellectual property rights.
- Create safety concerns.
- Violate applicable laws.
Some listings may be removed immediately without prior notice when necessary to protect the community or comply with legal obligations.

Account Warnings
For less serious or first-time violations, we may issue a warning explaining:
- Which policy was violated.
- What changes are required.
- How to avoid future violations.
Warnings are intended to educate users and encourage compliance whenever possible.
Temporary Account Suspension
Accounts may be temporarily suspended when necessary to:
- Investigate suspected fraud.
- Prevent additional policy violations.
- Verify account information.
- Protect buyers or sellers.
- Comply with legal obligations.
During a suspension, certain account features may be unavailable until the review is complete.
Permanent Account Termination
Accounts may be permanently removed for serious or repeated violations, including but not limited to:
- Fraudulent activity.
- Repeated policy violations.
- Selling prohibited products.
- Counterfeit goods.
- Identity theft or impersonation.
- Harassment or threats.
- Attempts to manipulate Marketplace rankings or reviews.
- Circumventing previous enforcement actions.
Permanent account termination may also result in the removal of associated listings and Marketplace privileges.
Additional Actions
Appeals
If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, you may request a review.
Appeals should include:
- The account or listing involved.
- A description of why you believe the decision should be reconsidered.
- Any additional supporting information.
Appeals are reviewed individually.
Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that the original decision will be changed.

Repeat Violations
Repeated violations may result in progressively stronger enforcement actions.
These may include:
- Additional warnings.
- Temporary suspensions.
- Removal of posting privileges.
- Marketplace restrictions.
- Permanent account termination.
Emergency Action
ShopYellowPages reserves the right to immediately remove content or restrict accounts when we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to:
- Protect public safety.
- Prevent fraud.
- Prevent financial harm.
- Protect intellectual property.
- Comply with legal requirements.
- Protect the integrity of the platform.
Emergency actions may be taken without prior notice when circumstances require immediate intervention.
Fair and Consistent Enforcement
Our goal is to apply our policies consistently to all users.
We do not sell advertising, sponsored listings, or preferred placement, and moderation decisions are not influenced by advertising relationships or payments.
Every user – whether an individual seller, a small business, or a larger company – is expected to follow the same policies and community standards.
Policy Updates
As ShopYellowPages grows and laws, technology, and community needs evolve, this policy may be updated from time to time.
Updated versions will be posted on this page, and continued use of ShopYellowPages after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
