Community Ambassador Program Agreement
Last Updated: August 2026
The ShopYellowPages Community Ambassador Program is a volunteer community program designed to help make useful local information easier for people to find. Community Ambassadors help identify and share qualifying community events, activities, and announcements within an approved topic and geographic area.
By accepting an appointment as a ShopYellowPages Community Ambassador, you agree to the following terms.

Volunteer Program
Community Ambassadors are volunteers. Participation does not create an employment, contractor, agency, partnership, franchise, or other compensated relationship with ShopYellowPages.
Ambassadors are not authorized to make commitments, representations, or agreements on behalf of ShopYellowPages.
There is no fee to participate and no compensation is promised for serving as an Ambassador.
Ambassador Appointments
Each Ambassador appointment applies to a specific:
Community or geographic area + Community Ambassador category
For example:
Dayton Area — Car Shows
Coverage areas may vary based on the community being served. ShopYellowPages may use different geographic coverage distances for urban, standard, and rural areas.
An individual may hold no more than two active Community Ambassador appointments at one time.
Only one Ambassador position is normally available for the same approved category and geographic assignment.

One-Year Term
Each appointment lasts approximately one year from the date of acceptance, unless the Ambassador resigns or the appointment is ended earlier.
Completion of one term does not guarantee another term.
Eligible Ambassadors may be offered automated renewal when their term approaches expiration.
Community Participation
Ambassadors agree to make a reasonable, good-faith effort to help keep their assigned community topic represented.
There is no fixed posting quota.
Communities vary significantly in population, activity, seasonality, geography, and the number of qualifying announcements available. ShopYellowPages therefore does not require every Ambassador to make the same number of posts.
Ambassadors are expected to participate when reasonably appropriate for their assignment.
Fair Community Coverage
An Ambassador position is intended to serve the community—not a particular business, organization, club, venue, group, or individual.
Ambassadors may be affiliated with organizations related to their assigned category and may post qualifying announcements involving those organizations. However, Ambassador privileges may not be used primarily for self-promotion.
Ambassadors should make a reasonable effort not to intentionally exclude qualifying community information merely because they are not affiliated with the organizer.
Other People May Continue Posting
An Ambassador does not own, control, moderate, or receive exclusive posting rights to a Classified category or geographic area.
Residents, businesses, organizations, event organizers, and other ShopYellowPages users may continue submitting their own qualifying Classifieds.
Ambassadors are an additional community resource, not a gatekeeper.
Complimentary Classified Posting
During an active appointment, Ambassadors may submit qualifying Classified posts related to their approved Ambassador assignment without paying the normal Classified posting fee.
Complimentary posting privileges:
- apply only to the Ambassador’s approved assignment;
- may not be transferred to another person or organization;
- may not be used to avoid fees for unrelated Classified advertising; and
- end when the appointment ends.
All posts remain subject to ShopYellowPages Classified rules, prohibited-content policies, moderation standards, and other applicable platform terms.
Accuracy and Source Responsibility
Ambassadors should make a reasonable effort to confirm that information they submit is accurate and current.
Ambassadors should not knowingly publish false, misleading, outdated, or fabricated information.
When appropriate, information should come from the organization, venue, school, municipality, event organizer, or another reasonably reliable source associated with the announcement.
Ambassadors are not expected to independently investigate every announcement.

Duplicate Listings
Ambassadors should make a reasonable effort to avoid knowingly creating duplicate Classified posts when the same information is already available on ShopYellowPages.
ShopYellowPages may use automated systems to identify possible duplicate submissions and may merge, reject, suppress, or otherwise manage duplicate content.
Community Contact
ShopYellowPages may provide a contact form allowing community members to contact an Ambassador regarding their approved assignment.
The form may be used to suggest events, activities, announcements, corrections, or other relevant community information.
An Ambassador’s private email address does not need to be publicly displayed for people to use this feature.
Ambassadors are expected to use contact information received through the program appropriately and only for legitimate Ambassador-related purposes.
Reporting an Ambassador
Community members may report concerns about an Ambassador through the Report Ambassador feature.
A report does not automatically mean that an Ambassador has violated program rules.
ShopYellowPages may review reports for legitimacy and may disregard duplicate, abusive, retaliatory, irrelevant, or unsupported reports.
Verified concerns may affect an Ambassador’s program standing.
Depending upon the circumstances, ShopYellowPages may provide a warning, restrict Ambassador privileges, decline renewal, suspend an appointment, or remove an Ambassador.
Renewal
Ambassadors in good standing may generally be eligible to renew their appointment after the one-year term.
Renewal may consider factors including legitimate reports, compliance with program rules, account standing, and continued eligibility for the position.
ShopYellowPages may require additional review before renewal when appropriate.
Renewal is not guaranteed.
Resignation and Removal
An Ambassador may resign from an appointment.
ShopYellowPages may suspend or end an appointment when reasonably necessary to protect the community, the platform, its users, or the integrity of the Ambassador Program.
When an appointment ends, the position may become available for another community member.
Recognition and Years of Service
ShopYellowPages may publicly recognize current Community Ambassadors on the Community Ambassador page and through Ambassador badges or other recognition features.
Recognition may include the Ambassador’s name, approved assignment, community served, and cumulative years of service.
Years of Service are cumulative and do not need to be consecutive.
For example, someone who serves in 2027, takes 2028 off, and serves again in 2029 may ultimately receive recognition for 2 Years of Service.

Program Changes
ShopYellowPages may modify the Community Ambassador Program, eligibility standards, geographic coverage, available categories, features, or these Program terms as the platform and communities it serves evolve.
Material changes affecting an active Ambassador’s responsibilities may be communicated to the Ambassador.
General ShopYellowPages Policies
Participation in the Community Ambassador Program does not replace the normal rules governing use of ShopYellowPages.
Ambassadors remain subject to applicable ShopYellowPages Terms, Classified policies, community standards, privacy policies, and other platform rules.

Acceptance
By submitting a Community Ambassador application and accepting an Ambassador appointment, the participant confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Community Ambassador Program Agreement.
