Payments, Refunds & Disputes Policy
Clear Payments. Fair Policies. Trusted Transactions.
At ShopYellowPages, we believe every transaction should be simple, transparent, and secure.
This policy explains how Marketplace payments are processed, how refunds and cancellations are handled, how disputes are resolved, and what buyers and vendors can expect throughout the transaction process.
Our goal is to create a fair Marketplace where customers can shop with confidence and vendors can focus on growing their businesses.
This policy applies only to purchases made through the ShopYellowPages Marketplace.

How Marketplace Payments Work
The ShopYellowPages Marketplace connects buyers with independent vendors.
When a customer places an order:
- The customer submits an order through the Marketplace.
- Payment is securely processed through Stripe.
- The vendor is notified of the order.
- The vendor prepares the order for shipment or local pickup.
- Funds are held and processed according to our payment and fraud prevention procedures.
- Vendor payouts are issued in accordance with our payout schedule and payment processor requirements.
ShopYellowPages provides the technology that facilitates these transactions but is not the seller of the products listed by independent vendors.
Secure Payment Processing
All Marketplace payments are securely processed through Stripe, our trusted payment processing partner.
Stripe uses industry-standard security measures, encryption, and fraud detection tools to help protect buyers and vendors.
ShopYellowPages does not store complete credit card numbers or other sensitive payment credentials.
Accepted Payment Methods
Accepted payment methods may include:
- Major credit cards
- Debit cards
- Digital wallets supported by Stripe
- Other payment methods made available during checkout
Available payment methods may change as Stripe adds or removes supported payment options.

When You’re Charged
Buyers are generally charged when an order is successfully placed and payment is authorized.
If a payment cannot be authorized, the order may not be completed until payment has been successfully processed.
Marketplace Transaction Fees
Marketplace transaction fees apply to vendors – not buyers.
Current Marketplace fee:
7% of the product price plus $0.60 per completed transaction.
This fee includes payment processing costs and supports the operation, maintenance, security, and continued development of the ShopYellowPages Marketplace.
Any applicable shipping charges and sales taxes are displayed separately during checkout.
Marketplace fees may be updated in the future. Changes will apply only to future transactions after appropriate notice has been provided.

Vendor Payouts
Vendor payments are issued after payment processing requirements have been satisfied.
The timing of payouts may vary depending on factors including:
- Stripe payout schedules
- Identity verification requirements
- Fraud prevention reviews
- Banking processing times
- Refunds
- Chargebacks
- Payment reserves required by the payment processor
ShopYellowPages cannot guarantee the exact timing of bank deposits once funds have been released by Stripe.
Order Cancellations
Before Shipment
If an order has not yet shipped or been prepared for pickup, buyers should contact the vendor as soon as possible to request cancellation.
If the vendor approves the cancellation, the payment will generally be refunded to the buyer using the original payment method.
After Shipment
Orders that have already shipped may no longer be eligible for cancellation.
In those cases, buyers should review the vendor’s return policy.
Returns
Return policies may vary between vendors.
Each vendor is responsible for clearly communicating their return policy within their Marketplace listings or storefront.
Before making a purchase, buyers are encouraged to review the vendor’s return policy carefully.
Some products may not be eligible for return due to:
- Custom or personalized items
- Perishable products
- Health and hygiene products
- Digital goods
- Other products identified as non-returnable
Refunds
Refunds may be issued when:
- An order is canceled before fulfillment.
- A return is approved.
- The wrong item was received.
- The product arrives significantly different from its description.
- The item is damaged during shipment.
- The order cannot be fulfilled.
Refunds are generally returned to the buyer’s original payment method.
Processing times depend on the buyer’s financial institution and payment processor.

Partial Refunds
In some situations, a vendor may issue a partial refund instead of a full refund.
Examples include:
- Partial shipping refunds
- Missing components
- Pricing adjustments
- Other mutually agreed resolutions
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
If an order arrives damaged, incomplete, or incorrect:
Buyers should:
- Contact the vendor promptly.
- Describe the issue.
- Provide photographs when appropriate.
- Retain packaging when possible until the issue is resolved.
Most issues can be resolved directly between buyers and vendors.

Lost Shipments
If tracking indicates a shipment has been delayed or lost:
Buyers should first contact the vendor.
The vendor may:
- Contact the shipping carrier.
- File an insurance claim if applicable.
- Arrange a replacement shipment.
- Issue a refund when appropriate.
Payment Disputes
If a buyer and vendor cannot resolve an issue directly, ShopYellowPages may review the matter to determine whether Marketplace policies have been followed.
Depending on the circumstances, we may:
- Request additional information.
- Review communication between the parties.
- Review order records.
- Review shipping information.
- Assist in facilitating communication.
Our involvement is intended to help resolve Marketplace issues fairly whenever possible.
Chargebacks
A chargeback occurs when a buyer disputes a payment through their card issuer or financial institution.
If a chargeback is initiated:
- Stripe may temporarily withhold the disputed funds.
- Vendors may be asked to provide supporting documentation.
- ShopYellowPages may assist by providing Marketplace records when appropriate.
- The final determination is made by the payment processor and the buyer’s financial institution – not by ShopYellowPages.
Repeated chargebacks resulting from policy violations or fraudulent activity may result in Marketplace account review.
Fraud Prevention
To help protect the Marketplace, ShopYellowPages and Stripe may monitor transactions for unusual or potentially fraudulent activity.
Protective measures may include:
- Payment verification
- Identity verification
- Temporary payout delays
- Transaction review
- Additional documentation requests
- Account restrictions during investigations
These measures help protect both buyers and vendors.
Taxes
Applicable sales taxes may be collected where required by law.
Tax collection, reporting, and remittance may vary depending on:
- Marketplace facilitator laws
- Vendor location
- Buyer location
- Product type
- Applicable tax regulations
Additional information is available in our Tax Policy.

Currency
All Marketplace transactions are processed in the currency displayed during checkout.
Additional fees imposed by financial institutions or currency conversion services are the responsibility of the buyer.
Payment Security
We take payment security seriously.
Our Marketplace uses secure payment processing and follows industry best practices to help protect customer information.
While no online transaction can ever be guaranteed to be completely risk-free, we continuously work with trusted service providers to maintain a secure shopping experience.
Questions About a Payment?
If you have questions regarding:
- A payment
- Refund
- Return
- Cancellation
- Chargeback
- Marketplace fees
- Vendor payouts
We encourage you to first contact the vendor whenever appropriate.
If additional assistance is needed, our support team is available to help facilitate communication and answer questions about Marketplace policies.
Policy Updates
We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our Marketplace, payment processor requirements, legal obligations, or business practices.
When material changes are made, we will provide reasonable notice through our website or user accounts where appropriate.
Your continued use of the Marketplace after those changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Thank You
Our Marketplace exists to help independent businesses grow while giving customers a trusted place to shop.
By keeping our payment policies clear, transparent, and fair, we hope to create an experience that benefits buyers, vendors, and the communities they serve.
